Prayers of Thanksgiving for Nigeria
1 Peter 2:9: But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people who are God's own possession. You have become these people so that you may speak of the wonderful acts of the one who called you out of darkness into his amazing light.
- Father - Thank You for our country Nigeria. Thank You for choosing us as a nation, as a people. Thank you for setting us aside as your own people. Thank you, Lord
1 Peter 2:10: Once you weren't a people, but now you are God's people. Once you hadn't received mercy but now you have received mercy
- Father, we thank you for your mercy. But for your mercy Lord, we would have been consumed.
- Father, we thank you for our leaders. We thank you for those at the helm of affairs. Your word says that a kings heart is as a stream of water in your hands and you channel it towards all who please You. Therefore, Lord, we place the hearts of our leaders into your hands. Grant them wisdom to rule the affairs of our Nigeria and our communities
- For each and every one of our leaders - the president, the state governors, the local government chairmen, the traditional leaders. We thank you for all our leaders. We plead for wisdom for these ones
- We thank God for the numerous advisors which the President have surrounded themselves with. As these people have the listening hear of the President, we pray for wisdom to advise the President on the right course of action
- Father, surround our President with sound wise counsel to direct him as he leads our nation
