Prayers of Thanksgiving for Nigeria

1 Peter 2:9: But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people who are God's own possession. You have become these people so that you may speak of the wonderful acts of the one who called you out of darkness into his amazing light. 

  • Father - Thank You for our country Nigeria. Thank You for choosing us as a nation, as a people. Thank you for setting us aside as your own people. Thank you, Lord

1 Peter 2:10: Once you weren't a people, but now you are God's people. Once you hadn't received mercy but now you have received mercy

  • Father, we thank you for your mercy. But for your mercy Lord, we would have been consumed. 
Romans 13:1: Every person should place themselves under the authority of the government. There isn't any authority unless it comes from God and the authorities that are there have been put in place by God

  • Father, we thank you for our leaders. We thank you for those at the helm of affairs. Your word says that a kings heart is as a stream of water in your hands and you channel it towards all who please You. Therefore, Lord, we place the hearts of our leaders into your hands. Grant them wisdom to rule the affairs of our Nigeria and our communities
  • For each and every one of our leaders - the president, the state governors, the local government chairmen, the traditional leaders. We thank you for all our leaders. We plead for wisdom for these ones 
Proverbs 11:14: Without guidance, a people will fall, but there is victory with many counselors

  • We thank God for the numerous advisors which the President have surrounded themselves with. As these people have the listening hear of the President, we pray for wisdom to advise the President on the right course of action
  • Father, surround our President with sound wise counsel to direct  him as  he leads our nation

  1. over Nigeria, we declare the peace that surpasses all understanding
  2. We declare that the Lord will heal our Land
  3. We declare that Jesus is Lord over Nigeria
  4. We declare that Nigeria is forgiven
  5. We declare that the fear of the Lord is restored in Nigeria
  6. We declare revival, reformation and revolution in Nigeria
  7. We declare that the blood of Jesus prevails over Nigeria
  8. We declare that Nigeria is protected by God
  9. We declare that Nigeria must submit to God
  10. We declare that the will of the Lord be done in Nigeria

The God that sustains me

In the song “Kosobabire” by Psalmos, Evang. Tope Alabi said “O s’ate mi rogodi, o mu mi duro d’olosinsin”. It basically means that God sustained me during my period of dryness, of hardship until my period of refreshing came. There are times when we feel that we have prayed, we’ve fasted but it looks like the situation remains the same and then we wonder “God why are you silent, why are you not answering me?
